Course Description

Arithmetic operations are the basic mathematical processes used to work with numbers. They form the foundation of all calculations in mathematics and are essential for solving everyday problems. The four primary arithmetic operations are:

• Addition (+): Combining two or more numbers to get a total or sum.
  Example: 7 + 5 = 12
• Subtraction (−): Finding the difference between two numbers by taking one away from the other.
  Example: 10 − 4 = 6
• Multiplication (×): Repeated addition of the same number; it shows how many times one number is contained in another.
  Example: 3 × 4 = 12
• Division (÷): Splitting a number into equal parts or groups. It shows how many times one number is contained within another.
  Example: 12 ÷ 3 = 4

These operations follow specific rules, such as the order of operations (BODMAS/PEMDAS), and they are used in everything from simple calculations to complex problem-solving in algebra, finance, and beyond. Mastery of arithmetic operations is a key step in building a strong foundation in mathematics.
